A
Special Opportunity for Special Ladies
“Ladies Only, Fun on the Lake 2010”
“Ladies Day on the
Lake” will be held from
9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on
June 15, 2010 at Lighthouse Marina, 1925 Johnson’s
Marina Road,
Ballentine, SC. The Lake Murray Association (LMA), SC Department of Natural
Resources (DNR), Lake Murray Power Squadron and Columbia Power Sports will
host this popular annual event, which is open to all ladies 17 years of age
and older.
The purpose of Ladies’ Day is to instruct women about all the
elements of safe boating, including how to drive and dock a powerboat
safely, back a boat trailer into the water and launch and retrieve a boat.
Each participant will have the opportunity to get into a DNR boat to take
her turn operating it on the open water and to dock it at the marina. This
will all be done under the competent and patient guidance of the DNR
instructors. These are just some of the activities for this fun-filled
day! A course in the safe operation of personal watercraft will be offered
again this year by Columbia Power Sports. A safety presentation will be
conducted by personnel of the Lake Murray Power Squadron.
This event-packed day on beautiful
Lake Murray is always a
sellout (only 32 spaces are available), so it is not too early to reserve
your spot. The $35.00 fee is required in advance to hold your place. The
fee covers your lunch, drinks, and all other expenses for the day.
Please call Kenneth Fox at 803-604-1409 for information on how to reserve a
spot for this event.
